A Domain Name Server maps IP numbers to a more easily remembered name. When you type http://www.webguest.com into your browser , the DNS (specified when you installed dial-up networking) searchs for a matching IP address (208.28.202.95). If the DNS doesn't find an entry in its database, it will ask other DNSs until the entry is found, and you will see our site. Otherwise, you'll get an error message from your browser.

An (email) autoresponder is a software program running on a computer server connected full time to the Internet . An autoresponder has an email address . If someone sends an email to an autoresponders email address, the autoresponder automatically and immediately emails this person a standard answer (for example: "Thank you for sending me a message. I will reply shortly"), and at the same time it sends also the incoming message to the person who owns the autoresponder (so the owner of that autoresponder can reply to this email message later on). So, if you send someone an email and you get an answer immediately, you know that you have sent a message to an autoresponder.

AUP is a policy for the use of the Internet within an organization. Companies or organizations can use a AUP filter to exclude some Internet services for their employees or members. Not only organizations can establish their own AUP standard, even parents can do. Many parents use a AUP tool (some sort of filter) to block access to pornographic sites for their children (for example: CyberPatrol).
