The Adv. Omega-X Destroyer is a byproduct of the Earth Civil War. The Omega-X Destroyer is a step between the Omega Destroyer and the Warlock Destroyer. Originally these ships were only used for testing new devices like weapons and armor, but when Sheridan gained more power, Clark couldn't effort to spend even more time and resources on the Warlock Destroyer. He needed new ships that were able to fight and win against Sheridan's WhiteStar fleet and so the Omega-X was born.
The destroyer is equipped with a simplified Shadow Bio-armor and fusion beam weapon. The engine systems and the overall design are still conventional technology known from the Omega Destroyer.
About 20 of these ships went into battle against the WhiteStar fleet in 2261. In their previous battles against loyalist Earth Alliance forces, the WhiteStar fleet had no major problems in winning the fight. The WhiteStar ships were faster, better armed and had better defense systems but this time the enemy was at least equal. The WhiteStar laser shots only slightly damaged the hull and the weapons of the destroyer were able to destroy a WhiteStar vessel with a single hit.
Many WhiteStar-Class vessels were destroyed in this battle. Their only advantage and trump card was the extreme agility. They outmaneuvered the destroyers and finally managed to destroy all Omega-X Advanced Destroyers but a high price was paid for this victory. Many WhiteStars had been destroyed or disabled and Lt. Cmdr. Ivanova was hurt mortally during this battle. She only survived because Ranger Marcus Cole gave his life for hers.

The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace... it failed. In the year of The Shadow War it became something greater, our last best hope... for victory. The year is 2260, the place: Babylon 5."
- Commander Susan Ivanova, 2260 opening narrative
In early 2260 the new founded Army of Light received a new ship. The new ship is called White-Star and is a combination of Minbari and Vorlon technology. Capt. Sheridan became the commander of the ship and proofed its capability in several battle against Shadow forces.
"This is the White Star the departing ship, I just want to say I appreciate your response and I fully understand. The Vorlons said that you wouldn't be up for a fight like this. In fact, they said in the last War, they carried you and did most of the work, while you took most of the credit for it. They said that if you got involved in this one, you'd just get hurt. Come to think of it, we've got the Vorlons, we don't need much more help do we? I mean the Vorlons are really, pretty close to perfect, aren't they? And strong?" 'Vorlon che'gu dom'chog.' "Yeah well, whatever. Listen I'll be sure and give them your message as soon as I get back. In the mean time, you have a nice flight. We'll be sure and send you a message as soon as the fighting is over, so you can come back out again."
- Ivanova and The Walkers, "Voices Of Authority"
Finally the Walkers agreed to help the Army of Light. There seemed to be some kind of conflict between the Walkers and the Vorlons.
The situation on earth became more violent from day to day when the earth senate found proofs that Clark was involved in the death of former President Luis Stantigao. Clark dissolved the senate and declared martial law on earth and the colonies. When the colonies at Mars, Proxima III and Orion VII refused to declare martial law, Morgan Clark ordered to bomb the Mars colony
The beginning of the Earth-Civil-War
Babylon 5 now became the "official" head quarters of the Army of Light The station was protected by many alien races against Earth Alliance or other attacks but without money and resupply from earth a hard time began.
In mid 2260 the war against the Shadows was going bad. Some alien races thought that they could handle the conflict with the Shadows better alone and left the Army of Light. Others didn't want to join the AOL because they were afraid of Shadow attacks and so Sheridan needed a great victory against the Shadows to unite the races.

"I was there at the dawn of the Third Age of Mankind. It began in the Earth year 2257 with the founding of the last of the Babylon stations, located deep in neutral space. It was a port of call for refugees, smugglers, businessmen, diplomats and travelers from a hundred worlds. It could be a dangerous place, but we accepted the risk because Babylon 5 was our last, best hope for peace. Under the leadership of its final commander, Babylon 5 was a dream given form, a dream of a galaxy without war, when species from different worlds could live side-by-side in mutual respect, a dream that was endangered as never before by the arrival of one man on a mission of destruction. Babylon 5 was the last of the Babylon stations. This is its story."
- Ambassador Londo Molari's opening narrative, "The Gathering"
Nearly all races decided to send ambassadors to the station to support the dream of peace and unity shortly after Babylon 5 went online Even the very mysterious Vorlon Empire sent an ambassador but not all people believed that a common space station could solve all problems between the races, some even wanted to sabotage the station.
One of them was Del Varner. He smuggled a changeling net on the station. A member of the Minbari warrior cast used this changeling net to change his shape into that of Cmdr. Jeffrey Sinclair, the commander of Babylon 5. The Minbari poisoned the Vorlon ambassador at his arrival at Babylon 5.
After a scan from Lyta Alexander, the telepath assigned to Babylon 5, all thought that Cmdr. Sinclair was the assassin. The Vorlons sent a small fleet to get Sinclair. Sinclair meanwhile tracked down the traitor and transmitted the confession of the Minbari to the Vorlon fleet. The Minbari assassin committed suicide just after his confession.
These describe the style in which one scene becomes the next. Used appropriately, these can be used to convey shifts in character development and emotion. In other words, a CUT TO: is not required at every scene change. Some major transitions include CUT TO:, DISSOLVE TO:, MATCH CUT TO:, JUMP CUT TO:, SMASH CUT TO:, WIPE TO:, and FADE TO:. Each term has it's own entry in this list of terms. Occasionally a writer will make up his own transition. In these cases, the transition is usually self-defined (such as BRIGHT WHITE FLASH TO: suggests whiteness will fill the screen for a brief moment as we pass into the next scene). For formatting info on transitions, see the Format page
Voice Over. This is the abbreviation sometimes seen next to the CHARACTER'S name before certain bits of dialog. This means the character voices that dialog but his or her moving lips are not present in the scene. Voice over is generally used for narration, such as in the beginning of The Mummy. Or, as Austin Powers would say, a character's inner monolog. The inner thought processes of the character said out loud such that only the audience will hear it. An general example of Voice Over can be seen (heard, actually) in Election or in the Sixth Season Finale of The X-Files.
